Oil Paint is a medium we recommend for teenage students and adults as it takes much longer to dry and the application technique as well as the brushes used are quite different than other types of painting. Students at Artfully Yours learn to layer the paint while it is still wet which we call a wet & wet method, as opposed to waiting for it to dry between layers. Oil Paint, like Acrylic, is usually applied dark to light. This means the student will set the lights on top of the darker base color.
Once you have spent time using Oil Paint to create a few images, you may wish to branch out into more abstract art using the multiple mediums you now have in your toolbox.
